Beth Sullivan brings over 20 years of experience in working with intellectually and developmentally disabled adults to her role as the Executive Director of Granite Bay Care. Her journey started after graduating from Hanover College with a degree in Theology, where she served as a Youth Minister for six years before dedicating herself to supporting individuals with disabilities. Beth went on to earn her Masters of Business Administration (MBA) from Husson University, demonstrating her commitment to ongoing professional development.
Beth is deeply committed to GBC's mission of creating an environment that promotes choice, dignity, respect, and happiness for the vulnerable populations it serves. She believes that people should not be defined by their disabilities and that everyone has something to offer to society. Beth is a strong and tireless advocate for helping individuals with disabilities reach their full potential while still leading a fun and fulfilling life.
Beth plays an active role in the training and development of GBC's staff, managers, and director teams. She emphasizes the importance of building wraparound teams of support for each client, which include case managers, guardians, and staff working together to achieve shared goals. Beth believes that a positive and supportive approach is key to helping individuals reach their full potential.
Aside from her work at GBC, Beth serves as the Coach for Granite Bay Care's Special Olympics Team, leading scores of athletes and staff to events throughout the State of Maine. She is also a member of the Restorative Justice committee, which seeks to help individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Maine avoid interfacing with the justice system.
Beth Sullivan's extensive experience and her commitment to GBC's mission have been instrumental in driving the organization's success. Her leadership, advocacy, and passion have inspired her colleagues to provide the best possible care and support for the individuals they serve.
